Elizabeth and Stephen Crandall (Owners) and Allan Browne (Founder)
Extended Home Living Services (EHLS) was founded in 1991 to help address the Chicagoland’s accessibility needs. EHLS has grown to a full-time staff of 18 professionals plus construction trades-people who together do over 800 accessibility projects a year - making EHLS one of the largest and most respected businesses of its kind in the United States.
EHLS partners with the leading manufacturers of accessibility equipment to provide our customers unbiased advice on the best solution for their accessibility needs. EHLS is the primary contractor for The City of Chicago’s Home Mod Program - sponsored by the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. EHLS also works closely with local caregiver organizations and rehabilitation hospitals to support their patients as they return home.

Darin Buczkowski - Vice President of Sales
Darin joined EHLS in 1996 making him the longest serving member of our staff. His years of service have allowed him to develop a tremendous depth of knowledge about accessibility products and solutions. Darin's tireless devotion to his clients is one of the reasons why EHLS has been an effective provider of accessibility services.

James Quinn - Senior Accessibility Consultant
James joined EHLS in 2007 and clients praise his professionalism, service orientation, and considerate manner. James works closely with the Mayor’s Office for People With Disabilities as well as serving private pay customers.

Frank Wasilewski - Elevator Sales
Frank Wasilewski joined the sales staff at To The Top Home Elevators in early 2007. Clients enjoy Frank's energy and his enthusiasm for residential elevators.They value his ability to partner with architects and builders, as well as homeowners.

Mike Silverstein - Stairlift Specialist
Mike has years of experience in the accessibility field and he currently is a stairlift specialist for EHLS. Mike knows stairlifts well and would be happy to help you find the right one for your home and needs.

Christin Falco - Director of Marketing
A former social worker at a rehab facility and an 8 year veteran at EHLS, Christin spends much of her time talking about accesibility modifications with therapists and other professionals who work with people who have mobility limitations.

Lynda makes things run smoothly, scheduling installations, modification projects and service calls.

Karen Stift- Customer Service and Sales Assistant
Karen is the first point of contact with our company. She works with you to understand your particular needs and to set up an appointment with one of our sales accessibility consultants.

Vick McCowan - Elevator Project Manager
Vicki has been absolutely indispensable for over seven years, handling all of the details that make the office hum. Vicki supports the elevator team, as well as agency relations.

Jacki Spector - Project Coordinator
Jacki handles purchasing, suburban permit procurement and construction management. She is capable of spinning six plates at once!

Linda Janas - Accounting Administrator
Linda deftly manages our accounting office in order to ensure that the business runs smoothly.

Susana Chua - MOPD and Ramp Up Coordinator
Susana prepares all permit applications for the City of Chicago, handles MOPD permits, and supports scheduling and purchasing.

Axel Dannhauer - Elevator and Lift Construction Supervisor
After spending twenty five years as a master mechanic, Axel joined EHLS to supervise all elevator and lift installations. His attention to detail and knowledge of all things mechanical make him an ideal person for this position.

Tony Santiago - Construction Manager
Tony has completed his sixth year at EHLS, He handles site management for our most complicated modification projects. Clients compliment his knowledge, kindness and easy going manner.

Jeff Crowe - Construction Manager
Jeff is our new secret weapon. He provides clients with exceptional service while monitoring every detail of the modification projects under his supervision.

Ken Crane - Elevator and Lift Installation Supervisor
Ken has spent his entire working life in the construction business. He has deep experience in commercial and residential construction and remodeling. With his strong mechanical and electrical knowledge he can supervise all aspects of almost any construction project. Since joining EHLS in 2002, Ken has worked extensively with lifts and residential elevators and has attended manufacturers' training programs in Montreal, Toronto, Kansas City and Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

Will Bellamy - Customer Service Technician
Will is THE expert for all stairlift issues. He recently went to Mexico to lead the installation of a Flow custom curved rail stairlift with EIGHT curves in the track. Will is factory trained and certified by Bruno, ThyssenKrupp Access and Savaria.

Ken's background as an electrician makes him a natural for lift and elevator service and troubleshooting.

Allan and Joanie Browne - Founders
Allan and Joanie Browne, the husband and wife team that founded Extended Home Living Services. In 1991 well before others recognized the need for accessible housing Al and Joanie saw an opportunity. Using money borrowed from friends they formed EHLS and began to build their pioneering operation. The only two employees at first, Al and Joanie worked tirelessly to make the business a success. Today EHLS has grown to a full-time staff of 16 professionals plus construction tradespeople who together do more than 800 home modification projects per year.
