Gearless Counterweight Elevator

This drive system utilizes a small gearless, overhead motor that attaches to the sling assembly with a set of wire cables. Much like its geared counterpart, this system uses gravity to move the car or counterweights to maintain motion. The characteristics of this system allow for half the electrical draw of the geared version while providing the same smooth and quiet ride of a hydraulic elevator. This elevator was introduced to the residential market recently to meet the growing demands of Green Technology.
