Ramp

Ramps - Ramp
1. english ramp

EHLS builds ramps the right way!  Ramps can, and should be, aesthetically pleasing to the eye.  This ramp in the town of Darien is made of synthetic wood, which is a material that will promote longevity, and really blends seamlessly into the exterior of this home.  Ramps can also be made of wood, concrete or aluminum and can be either permanent or temporary.

2. english ramp landing

An additional view of the previous ramp picture in Darien shows the deck flush with the door and threshold, following the particular contours of the building.

3. concrete ramp with wrought iron

This is a picture of a newly installed concrete ramp with wrought iron hand rails.  Ramps are an excellent solution for a shorter rise from the ground to the porch level, whereas a taller rise would necessitate the installation of a vertical platform lift.

4. concrete ramp

A sidewalk with the proper slope can eliminate the need for a wood ramp, but serve the same function in providing ready access.  The entrance of this home remains entirely unaffected with the use of a sloped walkway, taking the place of a ramp and while maintaining the integrity of the home.

5. church ramp

EHLS was contracted to build a ramp inside a church, which assisted the congregants using wheelchairs to negotiate the three steps in the right of the picture.

6. welcome home jj

J.J. gets a real welcome home after two long years and a lengthy stay at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.  He is coming home to a newly modified house with a modular aluminum ramp, which is portable in nature.

7. armada aluminum

Another fine example of an aluminum ramp, highlighting the detail.  Please note that the garden has been retained!

8. quick ramp

A quick ramp is comprised of aluminum and wood frame, complete with wood decking and handrails and, like the all aluminum ramps, it is considered temporary and does not require permits.

9. switchback ramp

A switchback ramp goes one direction and then the other in a parallel fashion, which can be helpful when the rise from the ground to the porch level is higher.

10. ready ramp

Portable ramps can handle a steeper grade with ease and protect the look of the home.  This historical residence successfully maintains its overall integrity with the use of a simple portable aluminum ramp.  Structural changes are not necessary and, by virtue of its portability, are removable when it is no longer needed.

11. multi unit ramp

This multi unit dwelling provides its occupants with a means of entering and exiting the building via the ramp and the stairs.  Please note the widened area of both the ramp and stairs which is done to accommodate the larger numbers of people that might need access at one time, as opposed to that of a single family home.
