This family now has an accessible entrance to their home with a Bruno
vertical platform lift.  This lift provides access to an elevated entrance with a weight capacity of 750 lbs. and can accommodate power wheelchairs, in addition to the occupants.  

This is a lovely example of a ThyssenKrupp vertical platform lift that is integrated very nicely into the exterior of the home and enables the user to negotiate the six steps at the entrance, which can be like Mount Everest to a person using a wheelchair.  The aesthetics of the home remain unaffected, without the use of a lengthy ramp that would otherwise be needed. 

This is a picture of a Savaria 1504 VPL model, which has an aluminum/plexiglass enclosure and can be used for both outside and inside use.  A commercial application is demonstrated with this particular model and allows access to the second level of the building.  The 1504 can travel up to 23’ and has a standard weight capacity of 750 lbs.  

Two sisters are happily modeling their new residential three-stop 1504 VPL in their home that was extensively modified, which enabled access to all floors -- for both girls!  

The installation of a VPL at the entrance of this Victorian home prompted the owner to shed tears of joy after riding it for the first time because she had not been out of the house in almost a year!   This type of installation is as basic as it gets -- the VPL is installed to the side of the existing stairs by cutting into the handrails, with very little overall site prep.  

The application of this VPL involves the construction of a new wooden deck and stairs at the front porch area.  The new deck is now level at the front door threshold.  Note: the stairs are placed directly over the existing concrete steps. Also, a ramp would not be possible, given the location of the neighboring property line and the amount of space needed for one.  

This is a picture of a TKAccess PL-S VPL with a factory-supplied enclosure.  The unit provides wheelchair access to the backyard deck where the family spends a great deal of time, swimming and barbequing.
