This drive system utilizes wire ropes that wind onto a rotating drum. As the rope winds, it raises and lowers the sling and cab assembly through a series of sheaves (pulleys) to the desired floor level. This technology is the most proven of all available technologies, being used in homes since the 1940’s. Modern designs allow for reduced machine room and machine-room-less applications.
